Main components and content range of DH36 steel plate

Carbon (C): content ≤0.18%. Carbon is one of the important elements that affect the strength and toughness of steel plates. The right amount of carbon content can improve the strength and hardness of steel plates.

Silicon (Si): content ≤0.50%. Silicon in steel can improve the strength and hardness of steel, and also help improve the casting and welding properties of steel.

Manganese (Mn): content between 0.90% and 1.60%. Manganese is an important alloying element in steel. It can improve the strength and hardness of steel, and also help improve the toughness and welding properties of steel.

Phosphorus (P): content <0.025%. Phosphorus is generally regarded as a harmful element in steel because it reduces the plasticity and toughness of steel. Therefore, the phosphorus content of DH36 steel plates is strictly controlled within a very low range.

Sulfur (S): content <0.025%. Sulfur also has a negative impact on the plasticity and toughness of steel, so it is also strictly controlled within a very low content range.

Copper (Cu): content ≤0.35%. Copper can improve the corrosion resistance of steel in steel, but too high copper content may have an adverse effect on the mechanical properties and welding properties of steel.
Chromium (Cr): content ≤ 0.20%. Chromium is a corrosion resistance element in steel, but the chromium content in DH36 steel plate is relatively low because it is not a steel plate with corrosion resistance as the main performance requirement.
Nickel (Ni): content ≤ 0.40%. Nickel can improve the strength and toughness of steel in steel, and also help improve the corrosion resistance and welding properties of steel.
Niobium (Nb): content between 0.02% and 0.05%. Niobium is a strengthening element in steel, which can improve the strength and toughness of steel, and also help improve the welding properties of steel.
Vanadium (V): content between 0.05% and 0.10%. Vanadium is also a strengthening element in steel, which can refine the grains of steel and improve the strength and toughness of steel.
Titanium (Ti): content < 0.02%. Titanium is mainly used as a deoxidizer and alloying element in steel, which helps to improve the mechanical properties and welding properties of steel.
Molybdenum (Mo): Content ≤ 0.08%. Molybdenum in steel can improve the strength and toughness of steel, and also help to improve the corrosion resistance and welding properties of steel.
Aluminum (ALS): Content ≥ 0.015%. Aluminum is mainly used as a deoxidizer in steel, which helps to improve the purity and mechanical properties of steel.
